The main gateway into the state of South Australia, Adelaide Airport (ADL) is situated just 6 km / 4 miles west of central Adelaide and next to the coastline, Henley Beach South and Seaview Road. Each year, over six million passengers arrive and depart at Adelaide Airport, which equates to more than 3,000 passengers every hour.

Currently the sixth-biggest airport in the whole of Australia, Adelaide Airport boasts a gleaming new state-of-the-art passenger terminal, which combines both domestic and international services. This modern terminal features around 40 different check-in desks, 14 aerobridges and plenty of shops, and is able to handle almost 30 aircraft simultaneously.


The long-term parking area has recently by relocated and the number of spaces increased from just over 450 to 760, with seven-day tariffs reduced considerably. Adelaide Airport has recently received a series of awards, including the Australian Capital City Airport of the Year, and further awards for architectural design, infrastructure development, achievement and airport retailing.

Several hotels are extremely close by and less than 2 km / 1.5 miles from the airport. The most convenient accommodation includes the Adelaide Airport Motel along the Sir Donald Bradman Drive, and also the Comfort Inn Aviator's Lodge on Tapleys Hill Road. Further hotels can be found nearby in the city and throughout South Australia.
